It's the second consecutive year that we are buying coffee from the Chacón family after visiting them last year!
We bought a couple of different lots, and are starting with the release of the Red honey Caturra/Catuai mix, when cupping the lots blind we could easily detect their coffees by their distinct flavour profile, their processing is so specific it's easy to recognise. Cups are always full off flavour and sweetness with that typical Lajas style of fermentation. The Red Honey Caturra/Catuai reminds of last years White Label Yellow Diamond, but this time a bit more rounded and approachabale. Expect a very layered cup with notes of chocolate, red grape and cherry with a cooling aloe vera like acidity.
