The Batian varietal was developed in 2010 through cross breeding SL28 & SL34 to become higher yielding & naturally more rust resistant. Given the huge impact disease can have on a farmer’s crop & income, Batian is not only reducing chemical use, but reducing the overall cost of production - boosting farmer profits! This 100% Batian lot is fermented for 12-24 hours, then dried on raised African beds. This is a coffee with beautiful tropical fruit layered with Kenya’s bright acidity & caramel sweetness.
