12.50 EUR
Cyato Washing Station is located near Lake Kivu in Western Province Rwanda.
The Station is built in 2017 and is operated by Tropic Coffee Company. There are 25+ producers delivering coffees to the station growing coffee between 1800 and 2200 meters above sea level.
The area is also the location of Nyungwe Forest, one of Central Africa’s oldest rainforests. Thanks to Nyungwe, the region is home to a diverse variety of animals and plants.
Farmers avoid using fertilisers or pesticides and rely on wild bee populations to help pollinate coffee trees.
They have seen up to 60% increase in yields, thanks to wild bees.
We really enjoy the herbaceous notes of laurel and black currant in this coffee giving it an amazing depth and sweetness.
