Espresso A, Ethiopia
Faysel Abdosh founded the Aricha Washing Station in 2018, when he bought the previous station to protect it from decay. As of that moment, he dedicated himself to coffee cultivation, not only for his own benefit but also for farming communities in the wide vicinity. These are typically smallholders with generations of experience, who tend to their 2 to 3 hectares of land with extreme care and who then sell it to Faysel's washing station. Faysel then processes the coffee per community lot to extend the line of traceability beyond the washing station, and to share the profits correctly. This lot is a G2 that was produced at around 1950 masl and we bought it for its rounded character and elegant floralness that we love to exhibit in our Espresso A series to familiarize people with the terroir of African - and in this case Ethiopian - coffee.
