The Siko Washing station lies near the small village Siko, in the Guji district. It lies at 2070 masl, which is about 100 meters lower than the farms it buys  cherries from. The soil on the mountains is red and fertile and the region bathes in sunlight, giving the coffee its fruity character and juicy body that is so often associated with Guji. The washing station was founded in 2017 and works with approximately 500 smallholder farmers in the region who each own no more than per 0.5 to 2 hectares of land. Given the altitude of the plots, cherries take a longer time to ripe on the trees and are therefore picked toward the end of the season. Once the cherries arrive at the washing station, they are fermented in water for 24 to 72 hours, depending on the weather circumstances. They are then washed and floated to remove the lightweight beans, to ensure only the densest and therefore most qualitative beans remain. The coffee is spread onto raised beds to dry for 13 days, after which it is put in bags and rested until shipped.
